Hello everyone! It's hard to believe a month has passed already, but things have been super busy. To start off with, I'm looking at switching the newsletter provider from SendFox to Blogstatic, but still trying to figure things out. If this works out, I'm hoping to be able to host additional Riyati goodies through Blogstatic as well, so here's to the science working out! With that said, let's get started on this month's updates.
Updates
Riyati
First order of business is that I approved the proof copy for Riyati Rebirth's physical copies! My phone really eats the image quality, but it looks amazing in person; the cover (Emory Glass) is absolutely striking! One day I'll learn how to take decent book promo pictures, but in the meantime, please enjoy these that are not great but still show off the physical copy!
And it's a good thing the physical copy is off to print, because Riyati Rebirth is just over two weeks away from its August 1 launch, which is incredibly hard to believe. I'm very excited for it to be released out into the world, and hope everyone enjoys the first book in the Riyati series! If you haven't and would like to preorder either a physical or digital copy, you can do so with the links in the list below! (As an aside, I also finished the first draft for Riyati Rivals, the sequel, within this past month, and plan to start editing it in August, so if you enjoy Rebirth, more is on the way!) Riyati Rebirth is also on Goodreads and BookBub, so I'd super appreciate anyone willing to leave a review after reading-- every review helps let others know if the series would be something they're interested in!

I also am testing a more serial format for Riyati with Ream, Patreon, and Ko-fi. Every other week, 3 chapters of Riyati Rebirth are uploaded for subscribers; these subscriptions also come with more frequent behind-the-scenes updates, a companion guide for each Riyati book (content that otherwise is Campfire-exclusive, including character artwork), and signed physical copies. There's also chapters up just for followers, if you want to check out the series before committing to purchasing either a subscription or physical/digital book. Feel free to check out any and all of these sites for additional content!
Personal
In less optimistic news, the weather's sure been out to get me this summer-- between pressure fronts, temperature changes, and it being super hot, my migraines haven't been the friendliest. But there's been some definite silver linings, including my first break in about a year (thanks for Final Fantasy XIV's latest expansion release). I managed to take almost a full week off (boy was that a strange experience after not doing so in months), and cried a lot from the story. I've also got two battle classes and all my crafters and gatherers maxed within two weeks of early access launch, a tradition of mine at this point. Working on writing, university, and gaming all at once was definitely a task! The cats were less than amused, especially when I was up at 5am and not in bed for routine cuddles; early access weekend was not a happy time for them-- especially Shyama, as this was her first mmo launch and the first time she wasn't absolute priority in my husband and I's lives. She's not looking forward to the next expansion launch, to say the least. (They all had food, water, and clean litterboxes the whole time. And got pets. Don't believe their lies about it being truly the worst thing ever.)
Recommendations
As I've been pretty busy between health, university, and Riyati (not to mention the aforementioned Final Fantasy XIV expansion), I haven't had a chance to do much pleasure reading. I am looking into reading a new series by J. Haney and S.I. Hayes, Incandescence, about a young girl moving to a magic school and coming into her own; there's currently a free sample up at this link if you want to check it out as well!
